As a friend and past supporter of FAIR
you realize the importance of our community-based arts
programs, benefiting a wide variety of ages and interests
here in the Rockbridge area. Your financial contribution is
vital to our continued success!
A number of changes occurred during
this last year, some of which were not foreseen. Certainly
our relocation from the Jordan House was a substantial
transition, the burden of which was handled with grace by
Marsha Jones, our Executive Director. Our office is now
situated above Wachovia Bank and we feel that this location
is working very well for us. Programs that were housed in
Jordan House have continued in other venues. Writers@Jordan
House is now meeting in a number of locations in the area. Watch for an upcoming season of concerts from Music@Jordan
House, to be held at Three Hills Studio.
The Rockbridge Community Symphony
Orchestra has been flourishing under the guidance of Mark
Taylor, who assumed the position of Artistic Director when
Bill Claytor took a teaching position in Lynchburg.
Likewise, we have a new Director for the Strings in the
Schools program and the Youth Ensemble. Julia Goudimova is
doing a fine job with these groups and we are pleased to see
growing enrollments. Anne Ritter is the Director for Summer
FAIR, and we anticipate an exciting program this July.
So we have a new place, and some new
faces, but our financial needs are not new. We keep a
careful eye on expenses, but as one of our Artistic
Directors says ”The arts are not cheap!” The FAIR Board of
Directors is committed to making possible the quality
educational and performance opportunities that enrich our
lives, and making those opportunities available to all.
We have never turned anyone away from a program because of
an inability to pay. If FAIR has enriched your life or that
of someone you care about, won’t you please support us once
again with your tax-deductible donation? We are grateful
for your support of $200 this last fiscal year. If it is
within your means to increase your donation, many, many
thanks.
Sincerely,
Trina Welsheimer, President |
