The
Rockbridge Community Symphony Orchestra
Members of the RCSO comprise three generations of Rockbridge
players making music together. They rehearse Tuesday
evenings, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Maury River Middle
School Band Room. Members include advanced young string
players, proficient members of the area school bands who
wish to gain symphonic orchestral experience, experienced
adults from the community, and professional musicians who
donate their time to FAIR. The orchestra was first
organized in 1975 under the musical direction of Robert
Stewart. William Claytor served as its director after the
orchestra’s reorganization in 1999. Mark Taylor has served
as the director since 2005. Tuition for RCSO is $90 per
season, per season and will be due in September. Tuition
includes participation in three concerts.
