Local Pianist Featured
with RCSO
The
Rockbridge Community Symphony Orchestra, sponsored by Fine
Arts in Rockbridge, will present its Winter Concert on
Saturday, February 17, 2007 in Wilson Hall on the campus
of Washington & Lee University. This concert, which is
under the direction of Mark Taylor, will begin at 7:30 p.m.
The concert will begin with the Fine Arts in Rockbridge
Junior Ensemble, directed by Julia Goudimova. The orchestra
will then perform Copland’s “Buckaroo Holiday” from Rodeo;
the first movement of Beethoven’s Fifth (“Emperor”) Piano
Concerto, featuring local pianist Kirk Luder; Holst’s Second
Suite for Military Band, featuring the wind and percussion
section members of the orchestra; and a medley of Duke
Ellington tunes. There is no admission charge for this
concert, but donations are welcome. Perkins & Orrison ~
Engineers, Planners & Surveyors ~ are corporate sponsors of
the concert.
There is no admission charge for this concert. Donations will be accepted to help fund the Rockbridge
Community Symphony Orchestra’s programs for the rest of the
performance season.
